Kamila Sidiqi

The founder of PTCRO, the Dressmaker of Khairkhana herself, a civil activist, entrepreneur, civil servant, a mother, and a proud Afghan woman. Kamila Sidiqi is THE torchbearer of woman's rights and one of the leading businesswomen of Afghanistan. She started her business in 1996 when she created jobs for more than 150 women in her neighbourhood under a restrictive Taliban regime. After 2001 besides her business activities and civil society activism, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Administrative Office of the President, Deputy Minister of Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, and later as the Minister of Commerce and Industries. She continues serving the people of Afghanistan, especially women and is the founder and high level strategic advisor of PTCRO.
