Livelihood and Income Generation Activities for women in Kabul Province Funded by UNDP

The project focused on poverty reduction and capacity building of farmers in Deh Sabz District of Kabul Province. The project provided Solar Dryer machines for women to dry fruits and vegetables in peak-season so they can sell them in the off-season at high price.  PTCRO provided further accessories along the machines for the purpose of safety and hygiene. These machines are able to dry Tomatoes, Grapes (to turn them to raisin), Apricots, Onions, Apples and Green leafy vegetables.

 The project aims to:

• Support livelihood development and income generation for rural women.

• Increase the knowledge and skills of rural women in food cultivation, harvesting, processing, and storage

• Contribute to the improvement of food security and economic resilience of women in rural and peri-urban areas.
